Edita Vilkeviciute | Victoria's Secret Catalogue December 2011

I'm feeling like this is a show some love for Edita Vilkeviciute day. Here the Lithuanian beauty -- who is perfect for Victoria's Secret -- models new designs from the Victoria's Secret catalogue.
I read some blogging rubbish earlier this week about VS picking off the top models once the luxury labels make the girls famous. That's not the path of most Victoria's Secret models at all.
Edita , for example, made her modeling debut, walking runways in 2008 and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008. She has modeled for the catalogue since then, and built a wonderful career, including an excellent collaboration with photographer Camilla Akrans.
Miranda Kerr, who was the subject of this blogger's inaccurate commentary about VS models, arrived in the US in 2006 and walked the VSFS in 2007, after signing a major contract with Maybelline in 2006. Miranda became a VS Angel in 2007 and her career took off. It was not until Balenciaga asked Miranda to walk exclusively for the spring 2010 show that luxury brands took notice of Miranda Kerr, contrary to what this non-industry, non business development experience blogger stated in his gripe piece about Victoria's Secret needing a serious competitor. It's a little late in the game and several have tried to take on VS.
Back to Edita. She looks positively lovely as always here for VS; in her stunning Industrie #2 Camilla Akrans editorial that remains a top read at AOC a year later; and in the just-released Pirelli Calendar. ALL Edita Vilkeviciute editorials. OMG -- Edita missed the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year because she was booked for the Versace for H&M event. Now I see her new bra video. There may be a lingerie bidding war for Edita Vilkeviciute one day soon.
