28 Hotel Rooms, screening at Sundance's NEXT section, could be a breakout film, even with no recognizeable stars. With less sexual content (although it is there) than some might be looking to find, the film's excellent reviews should create interest and especially among women.
Propelled by the chemistry of leads Chris Messina and Marin Ireland, the feature debut of writer-director Matt Ross has a fetching hook, offering a look into the ups and downs of an adulterous couple entirely through their 28 encounters in different hotels. But what could easily have been a gimmick turns out to be a smart, incisive way to illustrate how every love affair eventually comes with strings attached. via Screen Daily
The movie 28 Hotel Rooms', accompanied by more than one fashion editorial focused on an adulteress in the last month, caused me to drop into the world of the woman who cheats, finding that on AshleyMadison.com, she's most likely to be a stay-at-home married mom, and not the femme fatale female executive with allegedly loose morals and brass balls.
I want to pursue this research on cheating women much further, trying to knock down another myth about feminists that we have destroyed the fabric of American families, while social conservative married moms try to keep the country morally intact. ABC's 'Good Morning America' also presents the adultress as a very normal, stay-at-home mom. To be continued . . . Anne
