Eye | Lara Stone @ Vogue Korea; Gaga's Lilliputian Men

Lara Stone The Bountiful
Lara Stone and her cleavage cover the 16th anniversary issue of Vogue Korea, August issue. Tigerrouge at TFS had this to say about Lara's image:
A b/w shot is a moment to savour shades and textures, not an opportunity to make it look like she's got lightbulbs in her boobs. She's got breasts that you can't ignore, so why highlight them into being as bright as headlamps? Just let them work their natural magic, let the light and shadows fall where they will.
Lady Gaga & The Lilliputian Men
Lady Gaga promised a controversial fragrance launch and she has delivered one in her collaboration with Steven Klein. Lilliputian men are crawling all over her body, much like the Catholic bishops and Republican-controlled legislatures, who are passing one law after another governing women's private parts.
We read somewhere this question of the booing and hissy crowd: "If it wasn't Gaga, what would you think of the image?"
Perhaps we cover too much body politics at Sensuality News and Anne of Carversville, but we think the cover sends a cogent message. Is it tasteful? No. But neither is the war being waged on women's bodies.

Sexual Behavior in Teens & Sexual Content of Movies
Sexual Content in Movies Is One Predictor of Sexual Behavior in Adolescence Science Daily
"Adolescents who are exposed to more sexual content in movies start having sex at younger ages, have more sexual partners, and are less likely to use condoms with casual sexual partners," O'Hara explained.
Why do movies have these effects on adolescents? These researchers examined the role of a personality trait known as sensation-seeking. One of the great dangers of adolescence, is the predisposition for "sensation seeking" behavior. Between the ages of ten and fifteen, the tendency to seek more novel and intense stimulation of all kinds peaks. The wild hormonal surges of adolescence makes judicious thinking a bit more difficult.
The greater the exposure to sexual content in movies at a young age, the stronger the sensation seeking behavior in late teens and early twenties.
Unfortunately, movies are the primary source of sexual scripts for 57 percent of American adolescents between the ages of 14 and 16. With sex education programs being abandoned by Republican-led legislatures, that number is likely to rise.
Note that the study didn't inquire into the impact of pornography on teen sexuality.

Kate Scott's 'Opus Red' Dahlia
Freja (aka Freyja) is the Norse Goddess of the Earth, Fertility and Beauty, descending from the matriarchal, agricultural Vanir clan, believed to be indigenous to Scandinavia.
Freja's fierce, independent nature and beauty came to mind this morning, writing about Givenchy's new fragrance Dahlia Noir.
Granted, most of the goddesses enjoyed powerful personas. But writing about the Givenchy woman, GlamTribale's Freja Goddess collection came to mind, and also the dahlias of my dear friend, photographer Kate Scott.
Here we see 'Opus in Red', a version of Kate Scott's spectacular black and white dahlia image chosen among the best of Vogue Italia's PhotoVogue for an exhibit opening on July 19th at Corso Como in Milan. (Read more on Anne of Carversville and see Kate Scott Photography)
