Hürrem Sultan or Karima, born Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska, known to Europeans informally as simply Roxelana (c. 1500–1506 – April 18, 1558) was the wife of Süleyman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire.

Roxelana’s history, the inspiration behind the Vogue Turkey editorial is legendary.

We are featuring many art images of Carla this week, but I want to isolate this series of images and the dialogue between Carla and Carrie, featured in Carrie Leigh's NUDE Spring 2010 issue.

In what I call the Buckingham Palace issue, British photographer Jan Murphy really did capture photograph her model nude in front of Buckingham Palace with the Queen in residence.

Who said only men can be scoundrels! In these images Carrie Leigh and Carla Johnson prove that women can cook up a sensual brew, even in the cold and windy city of Chicago.

Carla's images define the concept Ageless Fabulosity and frankly blow me out of the sensual waters at any age. If any woman can challenge assumptions about aging bodies, it's Dr. Carla Johnson, who is over 60 years old.

Ageless Fabulosity is focused on changing American stereotypes of women over 50. Reading Carla's interview and our later-in-the-week focus on British model and intellectual Alex B, you will find that France and Italy appear in the conversation.
