America's Financial Derivatives Guys Enjoy Dominance | Punishment San Francisco Supperclub Style

I'm a little confused by Ashlee Vance's article for the NYTimes about the financiers, lawyers, traders and accountants gathered this week at the annual International Swaps and Derivatives Association conference in San Francisco. “Collateralization and Netting — the Impact” and “Systemic Risk: Advances and Challenges in the Wake of the Crisis” was the focus, but apparently our guys needed a psychological pick-me-up in the evening.
For the most part, the NYT writes the story as a straight business story, but early in the article -- paragraphs three and four -- we read the guys dined at Suppercub, "a bar and restaurant, where some plopped on the beds that covered the floor while a waiter in denim short shorts, suspenders and a scarf delivered drinks. The truly relaxed turned over on their tummies and received back massages from a dreadlocked member of the Supperclub staff."
By midnight, many captains of industry ended up in Supperclub's S & M chamber with a bed-to-ceiling stripper pole and videos of dominatrixes playing in the background.
Dear New York Times business section: we have enough problems with the financial meldown, without the NYTimes mixing S&M noctural soujourns with straight reporting about finance-industry derivatives. You are not FOX News or the Village Voice. I know finances are tough but make these two separate stories, please.
Beyond that I assure Ms. Vance that sensually-sophisticated people aren't at all surprised that the guys were at Supperclub. Anyone who hangs out with the Wall Street crowd knows that they are big-time lust-driven on getting whipped by strong women.
Consider it penance for bad financial deeds. President Obama, threaten to shut down every S&M club in America, and you will get Wall Street eating out of your hand.
After 10 years with an investment banker, I have my stories -- but not to worry. Mum's the word.
Based on today's reports on Goldman celebrating America's financial meltdown, knowing a new chateau in France was close at hand, there's a reason why being pistol-whipped is a pleasure for these guys. It eases their consciences, makes them whole again.
It's like confession for Catholics. You say your Hail Marys and get back in the saddle, with a clean start. It's all John Wayne, Ronald Reagan and totally American, I would say.
Now that we're done with the financial news, how about a weather report? Anne
PS: From the NYTimes, I expect pictures!!!

The NY Times was sensationalizing. Supperclub is open-minded and does host a few S/M-themed events, but it's not an S/M club. It's a restaurant that offers performance art during it's fabulous prix-fixe dinner, and the performances range from dance to opera, aerial and even a blue-bunny drag act. Once a month they host a bondage dinner with a bondage performance (and I broadcast live in the room that the NY Times called the "S&M Chamber") but while Supperclub specializes in being outrageous and artistic, sensual and daring... the only dominatrices there would be among the dinner guests... except on the first Friday of the month, where they might be interviewed on my radio show, and the derivatives group wasn't even there that night, or they would have been sitting next to me as we were broadcasting live from the Chambre Noir.
Here are some photos from Bondage night, since you want to see them! :)
