Looking for Gold with Anna Nicole Smith

Making a living off the dead is not new, especially in the age of the Internet. Golden Palace.com has released snaps of a pregnant with daughter Danielynn, Anna Nicole Smith, who died in 2007. The company logo is stencilled on Nicole's baby bump in black, running also down her left thigh. Golden Palace.com says the model had agreed to become their spokesperson after her son Daniel died in 2006.

The campaign was also going to launch with an exclusive 'Anna Nicole' slot machine. After Nicole Smith's death, the company shelved the marketing campaign "out of respect for her and her family", writes the Daily Mail. Now it's time to revisit the campaign, including the slot machine.

Irina Shayk at Macy's Ideology

Irina Shayk showed up for the Macys Ideology activewear line press launch, clearly happy with all the attention garnered by her "mini frock".

The 25-year-old showed off her "flawless figure"  -- a word we'd like to banish from journalism's vocab -- wearing a "daring dress" that barely covered her bottom, while revealing "side splits in the material below her bust".

It seems that the look isn't included in the Macy's Ideology active living collection, developed by Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke, who looked rather pedestrian at the event in a grey track shoot.

Our instincts suggest that this Irina moment didn't play out exactly as planned for Macy's.

Modern Day Stooges

Paramount is producing a modern-day adaptation of The Three Stooges with Kate Upton center stage as Sister Bernice in a jaw-dropping swimsuit.

The temporarily speechless joksters, played by Sean Hayes (Larry), Chris Diamantopoulos (Moe) and Will Sasso (Curly) are positively reverential in the company of Sister Bernice, who as Kate Upton was voted Rookie of the Year after her sppearance in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Madonna's Smirnoff Vodka Groove

Forget her age 53, her 24-year-old lover Brahim Zaibat and Madonna's love of club kids.

As the gift that keeps on giving, Madonna has signed on with Smirnoff vodka in a global marketing deal that kicks off with a dance contest supporting Smirnoff's Nightlife Exchange Project. The goal is to get 10 million people across 50 countries to exchange their personal 'nightlife stories' on Facebook. In a grand finale Nov. 12, Smirnoff will throw 50 parties simultaneously around the world.

Madonna is offering a spot on her next tour for one lucky dancer, chosen from hopefuls submitting a 60-second video to Smirnoff’s website before Oct 10. The winner will be chosen at a dance-off among 10 finalists at one Nov. 12 Nightlife Exchange Project parties. via Brand Channel

Sexual function improved significantly and quickly in obese men with type 2 diabetes after weight loss with reduced-calorie diets, results of a small Australian clinical study showed.

Erectile function, sexual desire, and urinary symptoms all improved significantly in 31 men who lost 5% to 10% of their body weight in eight weeks.

Family Values Strikes Again

In the aftermath of ABC's 'Pretty Little Liars' star Emily Fields coming out as a lesbian earlier this year, the ultra-conservative Florida Family Association launched a campaign against advertisers on the show.

Calling photos like this one "irresponsible imagery", the FFA described the show as "using salacious and glamorizing scenes portraying young, pretty women as lesbians", saying it "sends the wrong message to these young girls, a message that reinforces and legitimizes this homosexual lifestyle in a manner that could affect these young girls' sexual identity for a lifetime."

Remax pulled their ads almost immediately from the show. E!Online reports that this week General Mills announced that they are pulling their ad support. When asked by AfterEllen.com if GM pulled the ads due to lesbian content, a rep for the company said that was not the reason.

"The decision is entirely based on the relevance of the show's audience for our brands, not because of the sexual orientation of individual characters." the rep told the website.

Thinking About Food May Trigger Eating Less, Not More

from Sophia Coppola’s movie Marie AntoinetteRoseTracker| (x-posted at AOC News) Researchers at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburg have turned inside out an assumption about thinking about food as the trigger to eating more of it.

The implications of the research are wide-ranging with scientific repercussions about pleasure and morality.

Years more research is required on this topic, but the Carnegie Mellon researchers are convinced that allowing oneself to think about a food doesn’t necessarily trigger the impulse to eat it. A core assumption in diet and obesity research is that one should avoid thinking about foods we love and go shopping instead.

We lose weight and the American economy prospers. (Just kidding … sort of.)

Not so fast say the Carnegie Mellon scientists who found that thinking about the pleasures of certain foods was enough to quench the desire to eat it. Over time, people ate less of the foods they focused on.

The implications of this discovery on issues of pleasure and morality may be far-ranging.
