Candy magazine isn't Playboy Club Hugh Hefner's cup of tea, but the magazine brings smiles to our faces. American viewers had no interest in a revisit of bunny bottom fantasy in the much-hyped debut of the season NBC's 'The Playboy Club' -- now cancelled.
Sometimes, social conservatives should stop protesting everybody's first amendment rights by pressuring advertisers of shows like 'The Playboy Club' to pull their ad bucks. 'The totally boring Playboy Club' was destined for demise, with or without Gloria Steinem's -- who notoriously went undercover at Playboy back in the day when feminism was a serious movement -- call for a boycott.
Mother Jones argued that Steinem gave the NBC show way too much credit for influence, and we agree. It was no Mad Men, a show we like as a credible history lesson on women's lives five decades ago.
Candy magazine is the fresh interest among readers and Candy delivers. The magazine's celebration of transvestism, transsexuality, cross dressing and androgyny is what's happening.
Mariano Vivanco shoots very masculine faces in full bunny regalia, major face makeup by Alex Box and priceless fishnets -- brand unknown -- in 'Playmates' for the new third issue of Candy.
(Not in order) models include Andrey Zakharov, Matt Trethe, Sam Lawson, Stefan Pollmann, & Thom Morrell styled by Luke Day, with set design by Gary Card.
If you missed the terrific new Candy video, take a look in our new large-screen format. We can never get that damn song out of our minds.
