Our presentation of the 2012 Pirelli Calendar isn't nearly as artistic as the models themselves, shot in Corsica by the first Italian to shoot the calendar Mario Sorrenti. The tastefully shot nudes include Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly, Saskia de Brauw, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Guinevere Van Seenus, Malgosia, Edita Vilkevicute, Kate Moss, Milla Jovovich, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

Karlie Kloss for Allure 'Hig Brow' or 'Low Brow'? | Are Victorian Prudery Principles Still Thriving in Fashion Industry?
Fashion & Models' Virtue
Could Male Bloggers Stop Advising Models Re Career Success! SN Living
This appalled male response to an Allure editorial is all sounding very British and Victorian, the global male morality police operating on women from yet another angle — all in the name of protection.
So what is all this mental masturbation about Poly avoiding being sexy, and being only sensually aloof? Being 'hot' hardly destroyed Natasha Poly, as the blogger writes will happen to Karlie Kloss now that she is ruined in his mind.
I swear that men do not have enough to do in today's world, and they should keep their noses out of women's career decisions, especially when they have no idea what they are talking about. Period. If we want to talk about the earning potential of models, I refer you to the Forbes list below Natasha.
What the erudite Australian blogger is writing about is the industry perception -- that good girl stereotype -- of how models succeed.
To add insult to injury in above quotes, note also that Lara Stone, #4 on the Forbes list, got an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein after posing knowingly nude half of her career, including some very racy shots for Interview by Mert & Marcus.
Lara Stone GQ US
Lara Stone | Inez & Vinoodh | GQ US October 2011 AOC Private Studio
This extraordinary artistic social commentary on religion, masculinity and femininity called ‘My Precious’ is an Anne of Carversville summation editorial.
Given the male blogger criticism of Mario Testino's images of Karlie Kloss for the October 2011 issue of Allure, I can only imagine that these zowie images of Lara Stone, snapped by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin for the October issue of GQ US, will also be under fire for predictability, lack of creativity and vision, and presumably bad use of light -- although the Mother Nature backdrop looks artistically inspiring to this 'low brow' chick.
In all honesty, I don't Lara is the least bit upset if a few male members deflate, while others rise to her defense in what I'm sure at least one Australian male would call 'low brow' images. Oh Lara -- you are such a hussy!!!
Not to worry, Ms Stone. We'll take your 'low brow' self into the new Smart Sensuality Girls Club confederation at once.Swim Suits & Bride Burning
Hindu Shiv Sena Protests Swimsuits; How About Bride Burning? AOC World's Women
Indian activists of the right-wing Hindu organisation Shiv Sena staged a demonstration against the swimwear brand Lisa Blue for using an image of the hindu Goddess Lakshmi in a recent runway show during Australian Fashion Week.
Of course, we support Lisa Blue’s decision not to use the image, because we simply can’t put Indian women in jeopardy.
Swimsuits vs Bride Burning
What we want to put in play is the reality of bride burning in India. These same men aren’t marching in the streets over the reality that Lancelet estimated that 100,000 women were burned to death in India in 2001. They expect that the number has increased in the last decade.
Without being disrespectful, let me suggest that this right-wing Hindu organisation Shiv Sena may not have a loud record in fighting bride burning. This article on Cricketweb.net says these same guys support the most horrific practices against women in India.
